Below you can find a big list of gluten free foods that should allow you to prepare tons of delicious breakfasts, lunches, dinners and desserts. Although the list is already fairly big, even more gluten free products can be found at: what foods are gluten free
It actually took me several years to figure out that I’m allergic against gluten. I was treated for various symptoms and health problems, but nothing really helped. However finally, after various examinations and allergy tests, the cause of my health problems was revealed: I was allergic against gluten.
As the majority of products contain gluten (especially those you find in supermarkets) it wasn’t really easy at the beginning to completely change my nutritional habits.
Some of my biggest problems and questions I had at the beginning were:
- How do I find out what foods are completely gluten free?
- Where do I get these foods?
- And how do I make my gluten free meals tasty?
Today I want to focus primarily on the first question and provide you with a gluten free foods list. But before we jump into it, here is some additional information on this topic:
Almost 1% of all Americans are allergic to gluten – most of them have celiac disease. Gluten is a composite of proteins that is found predominantly in wheat, barley and rye. But also, many every day foods contain gluten, like: bran, crisped rice, malt, soy sauce, pasta, the majority of alcohol and spirits…
Fortunately, there are more and more manufactures today that specialize in the production of gluten free products and foods. And therefore, it’s much easier nowadays to get gluten free foods as it was for example 10 years ago. Some of the more popular brands are: Ener-G, Beech Nut, Pamela’s Products, Nancy’s Natural Foods…
Below is a short video that gives a good explanation on what gluten is and it also provides a nice list of gluten free foods:
So, what foods are actually gluten free?
